Position Summary

The position requires academic excellence in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service with an emphasis on teaching.  Applicant must have a strong commitment to teaching in diverse areas (e.g., introductory math, calculus, and advanced mathematics).   Bryan College currently offers degrees in Mathematics and Mathematics Secondary Education.  The Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences support programs in math, chemistry, engineering, and other sciences, as well as the Core Curriculum for all students.

Most importantly, the new faculty will share and promote a Christian worldview consistent with the Bryan College Statement of Belief and Community Life Standards.

Reports to: Chair, Dept. of Mathematical and Physical Sciences

Education Required

  • Master’s degree in mathematics (minimum of 18 graduate hours in the field).


  • Prepare course plans and materials
  • Deliver on-campus courses
  • Promote a Christian worldview of mathematics
  • Advise students
  • Supervise undergraduate research
  • Committee service
  • Other departmental duties as needed
  • Accreditation activities including implementing SACS requirements
  • Recruitment of students
  • Other duties as required


Desired Qualities

  • An earned graduate degree in Mathematics or closely related field with 18 earned hours in graduate math.
  • Teaching experience preferred at the undergraduate level
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent authorization to work in the United States
