There’s always something fun and life-changing happening here at Bryan. Campus activities are an exciting and vital part of campus life. We offer numerous ways to stick with your favorite activities or explore new ones.
Livesay Learning Center
The Library is not just for research! It’s a great place to study. The study lounge in Library 113 is relaxing and has beautiful windows and comfortable seating.
Student Life
Our Student Life office in Latimer offers a number of comfy couches and tables that are available for students to study on throughout business hours. They even have coffee!
Outside or Inside
Reading out on the lawn can be a great way to get some fresh air, clear your mind, and still get some work done. If you need a table, try the Traylor patio outside of the Lion’s Den or the Shakespeare Garden patio outside the Library.
Take advantage of larger venues that aren’t always in use. Rudd often isn’t in use all the time. Head inside for some quiet time in a place that can help free your mind from distraction. Reading Shakespeare in an empty theatre may be just what you need to get into your assignment! In between meals is a great time to use the dining hall. It can be quiet and peaceful. Bring your own drink and snack or purchase something from the cashier and enjoy the large table space you wouldn’t otherwise have access to. You can check out empty classrooms. You don’t have to be in class to take advantage of a nice classroom: if a room is unoccupied, feel free to claim it as your own and get to work.
Campus Computer Labs
You don’t have to be using a computer to take advantage of the quiet atmosphere that most labs provide. Grab your work, your laptop, and an empty seat at a table and enjoy the lack of noise and distraction. Computer labs are located in the Livesay Learning Center, Mercer Hall, and most dorms.
Academic Resource Center
While it is recommended that you make an appointment, it is a convenient study space at just about anytime!
Visit The ARC
Stay up to date with what is happening on campus through the calendar. Student Life will send you an email with campus updates and announcements. You’ll also see posters advertising major events or announcements around campus!
We offer student-led clubs on campus. Want to know what clubs are available or want to start a new club? Students can email studentevents@bryan.edu, or visit the office of Student Life, located on the second floor of Latimer, and speak with the Coordinator of Student Engagement!
Check out our student newspaper, called The Triangle. The Triangle strives to provide late-breaking news in a relevant and timely manner. It includes a forum for news, sports, opinion, and discussion.
If you still have questions about getting involved, take a moment to talk to the Office of Student Life, located on the second floor of Latimer. They can be reached by calling 423.775.7209.

Full-time residential students are required to obtain at least 35 Christian Formation Credits per semester. Each semester, there will be a minimum of 60 available Christian Formation opportunities for students to receive credit. These are Christian Formation opportunities that include: Chapel, ENGAGE Outreach, and Spiritual Development initiatives (panels, focus groups, workshops, etc.). There are a variety of ways for students to obtain 35 Christian Formation Credits. Each student is expected to take ownership and responsibility for their Bryan experience by completing each semester’s requirements. To be clear, students cannot receive all 35 credits in one category.
Further information will come from the Student Life office each semester with details of opportunities, chapel-assigned seating, and how to track your credit requirements.
As members of the Bryan campus community, commuters ARE required to obtain Christian Formation Credits, but they are eligible for a Commuter Reduction. Christian Formation reduction forms are available in Student Life.
Bryan College utilizes a rapid alert and notification system to provide the campus community with immediate notice in the event of an emergency. Students, faculty, and staff are able to enter or update their own preference for contact information (cell phone or landline number, or both) through their MyBryan account. The emergency notification system is used only for emergency notifications or weather alerts. Campus closings are posted on the Bryan college homepage. School closings are also noted on the following Chattanooga TV channels: 3, 9, and 12.
